Duran is Shane's father and the former World International Champion. Duran met his wife Natia after he competed in the world tournament for the third time... and lost. Still they began to date and then were married shortly afterwards and had Shane. But tragedy struck when his wife Natia died of a heart virus. Duran was heartbroken, but his son was shattered so much that he almost ended his life one stormy night. Duran searched for his son but couldn't find him until the storm cleared, then he found him half drenched next to the river unconscious beside a red wolf-dog.
