Fortuna drew this! This is Elyon from my _Fates_of_the_Unicorns_ Master and slave themed story series having a little encounter with nature after a much less pleasant encounter that happened recently in the series.
Elyon stood a safe distance from the balcony doors, looking out into the sky and sighed. She was healed from her ordeal, her horn's magic having taken care of her injuries, unblemished and free of scars. The ones on the inside would take longer. She shivered a bit, wishing she were not alone. Her dragon Master Talos was meditating, and she knew he needed his privacy and solitude to keep his magic under control. She just wished he were here. She had never waned, or needed anyone before, but his touch was... comforting.
A fluttering motion and chirp drew her attention and she saw a small brown songbird had landed on the balcony railing. She inhaled slightly, recognising it as the one she had told to flee, terrified it would be killed by that horrible dragoness. It had come back! The magical runes surrounding the lair kept her from being able to sense it, unable to touch it with her mind. She needed to be out there.. to get it inside. She moved slowly, starting to crawl.. but froze, imagining what she looked like to the bird.. a cat stalking it. She slowly, carefully stood up. Step by step she walked onto the balcony, forgetting her strong fear of heights, ignoring the drop, her hand outstretched.
The bird fluttered nervously, hopping back and forth across the rail. It cocked it's head at a hand reaching for it, a familiar creamy white color... remembering food... remembering the TOUCH of something calming, friendly. It hesitated as it turned it's head this way and that, looking for danger, and not finding any, hopped forward onto the offered finger.
Elyon smiled, lifting the bird closer... now that the bird was inside the lair boundary she could feel it, a tiny ball of life on her hand, her mind sending soothing thoughts to it as her eyes shimmered a faint purple. "Thats a goooood birdie... maybe Master can get you a strawberry and make you a happy birdie," she said, glancing back into the dragons lair, both bird and unicorn relaxing, letting the unpleasant memories fade. "Maybe you don't even need a cage this time... wouldn't that be nice?"
The bird chirped, and began to sing.
Inspiring and lovely as always, thanks for the wonderful work, Fortuna. She is just so PREEEEEETY, and cute birdie too. :>

I had a bird land on me once and start singing back when I was a kid. :p
An uncle of mine had a chicken coop birds would get caught in...So I wandered in there one day and one of the few birds that had gotten trapped in there landed on me and started singing.
Walked out and let him sing a bit before the bird took off.
Then walked back in and shooed the other birds out. :p
So yeah I can really empathize with this pic. ^_^
