PG 1 The Journey begins
This is the 1st page of a 47 page comic starring 'The Wild West C.O.WBOYS of Moo Mesa'. A Saturday morning cartoon back in the early 90's about 3 vigilante law cows who protect 'The code of the west' (C.O.W for short as seen on the title).
The main stars are Marshall Moo Montana (green one with badge n guns, voiced by Pat Fraley who did Denver the last dinosaurs and Krang from the Turtle's voices). Then there’s ‘The Dakota Dude’ who’s voiced by ‘Jim Cummins’ (‘Taz-mania’s’ voice as well as ‘Whinnie the Pooh, Tigger, Razoul from Disney’s Aladdin ect). Then there’s my favourite ‘The Cowlorado Kid’ who’s voice by Jeff Bennet (Johnny Bravo, Brooklyn from ‘Disney’s Gargoyle’s’, Narrator from ‘Earthworm Jim’ & ‘Dave the Barbarian’ ect)
I thought of this comic back in August 1998 which was strangely inspired by a Scooby Doo movie, 'Scooby goes Hollywood' where Scooby & Shaggy left the show for Hollywood. The gang try to get Scooby to come back to the show by auditioning for a new Scooby and one was this blind, fat white sheepdog who couldn’t see and kept bumping, falling and tripping around the studio. Then this comic immediately came to mind.
The sheepdog inspired the white fat sheepdog on the bottom left though he mainly is modelled after ‘Jug Heads’ dog from ‘The Archie’s’ Hotdog. Even ‘Big Paw’ from ‘The Pound Puppies movie’ played a role in his design.
Anyway I hope you enjoy this as it’s been a long time coming and I hope time has done wonders for this comic.
