On Chakona, the homeworld for chakats, Amistad is the first settlement on the planet, and the capital of the world. AmGo is the Amistad public transport company. All electrically powered vehicles of course!

UPDATE: It has since been decided that vehicles drive on the left side of the road, just like in Australia where chakats originated. The image has been updated to reflect this fact. Mirroring the original image was done by

Hmm, I would think we would see some vehicles modified for Chakat and other Taur use. Take a for door car and remove the doors, then cut the pillar out and join the doors together into a single door that opens upwards like:

Then take out the upright seats and put in a two part system of a belly pad for laying on, and a back rest that lowers from the ceiling. to lean back on..
Dunno if any of that inspires at all, just my thoughts.

It could.. but I keep thinking about tight parking, like in a parking garage, or a store that has tiny spaces... I have a two door sedan, and that thing gets hard to get in and out of when someone parks right next to me. If I had to open the front door like normal, I'd be standing exactly where the back door would have to open at.. the only option there would be to go up.. Quite often though, when you crash and land on the roof, the windows are busted out already, so that could be a good escape place.. just make sure there are big windows on the doors.
I'm going to send Goldfur a left-hand-version of this picture, in color, with more stuff going on - this was a concept drawing I did at the con and is now scanned. Sooooo...I'll hopefully get this replaced now that I know Chakona is left-hand drive.
In the meantime, enjoy http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8223899/ - make sure to do the FA Salute (Ctrl-F5) when you view it in case you've seen it before.

It'll be easier this way since if I'm one of the first to do pictures like this, it could result in an "error carried forward," and I really don't want to cause that kind of problem in the canon. After all I'm playing around in someone else's world here!
Unfortunately I'm still trapped at work so it'll be a while yet before I get you the new version of this. But I can at least go on some other themes too. Everyone has really inspired me, and the kind words have even more so. Thank you for exhibiting my drawings, Goldfur.

With sethtriggs permission, I mirrored the image and fixed up the text, and the result is here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8311048/ sethtriggs will be re-drawing this for driving on the left, so when he posts it, I'll be taking down my manipulated version.
Good thing we got a name for it.
Does AmGo operate all buses, trains, trams, subways and PPTVs, or are there more operators?
Some places a public owned company (or department or whatever) will own the infrastructure (like rails and roads) and then several operators compete to give the best service while renting space on the rails and roads. Does it work like that on Chakona, or is everything owned by the state?
I was about to say "yay for driving on the right", but it seems that those Chakonans are all a bunch of "lefties" (when it comes to driving - can't say anything about their political views). Not that it matters, really...just as long as everyone agrees what side of the road one's supposed to drive in
Are there names for the public transportation services of the rest of Chakona's cities as well as the intercity services?
At the risk of getting sued by Ms Rowling, Knightsport might boast as bus company called the Knight Bus

Melbourne (and I think other Australian cities) has used the publicly owned-privately operated method for the trains, trams, and some of the buses. I'm unimpressed. I believe we had a much better service before they privatised it.
Amistad has government owned and operated public transport, and a fast and reliable service sees it well patronised. The Public PTV network is the only thing operated by a private company as that was an initiative of a savvy business group in Amistad's early days. Because it has been reliably run, the government has kept its hands off the service.

Yes, there are some trams, usually utilised to connect outlying suburbs to the city rather than inner city stuff which is usually handled by the buses. However, like the buses, the trams are powered by VoxxCon power packs, and thus do not use overhead wires and pantographs.
That brings me to another subject - you will not see overhead cables of any kind. All electrical and communications cables are piped underground. This is part of the ongoing effort to keep the cities and suburbs attractive, along with lots of parks and nature preserves.
