Valeris: Warrior Queen
It’s been a long time that I’m really satisfied with one of my own artworks.
And it’s been an even longer time that I drew “Valeris” – Queen of the Reptilians and wife to “Reptile Cynrik”!
Yes, the last traditional (!) artwork showing her was drawn in 2007… wow.
Well, now she’s back - with many thanks to my dear brother Chris, who kinda urged me to finally draw her again. Thanks for the kick! ^_^
TRIVIA:
A murder has been committed at castle RIVERSTONE. The scene of the crime is devoid of clues… just one knife has been found. A knife with a very weird shape. Valeris is eager to solve this deadly puzzle.
Drawing Media: Traditional (Pencils, inks, markers, acrylics... and NO computer!)
Size: 30x40 cm (DIN A3)
Working Time: 21 hours
Art and character © Patrick Reichel 2012 aka

Original armor and clothing design by
herisheft
Gothic style architecture originally designed by
teivos
Dedicated to my friends Peter, who's also responsible for the existence of this character!
Also warmly dedicated to
herisheft and
veyoun
NOTE:
I’ve used a comic cover by Jim Lee and Scott Williams for reference. My inking and line art style has been highly influenced by Scott Williams’ style over the past years.

Of that I certainly have no doubt of. *grins* It's always wonderful to see another piece of art from you as well Reppy. I must say, you blow my mind with each new piece you do in that you grow ever better with each new picture. That doesn't even seem possible, but you certainly do pull it off quite well. And the thing that I like most, which this picture does a fine job of illustrating (no pun intended) is your very unique and creative style.
Generally speaking, I don't care all that much for the "comic book" style of art. I don't hate it, but I usually don't love it. Somehow you've managed quite nicely to capture that styling, but give it a far more artistic twist of your own and bring it more to life than I ever thought possible. Kudos to you for that good sir.
Keep up the fantastic work!

Ooo the tower's there! :D (everybody looks on the boobs first, I check the tower out, huuuuh xD )
One little comment to the tower I would still have, that's the windows. It's kinda my fault, since I didn't design them at all and now I criticise - but anyway. All depends from the industry in Aktes if it's possible to make such big glass plates. If not, I'd suggest using a classic gothic window, divided into many small glass fields which are then connected via a metal or stone network

http://www.lookingatbuildings.org.u.....32a780d32f.jpg - nice diagram about window shapes
Then there's the question, where is the picture taken from - from the tower there I'd extrapolate it's in another of those towers, even though the horizont makes it look like a 1/2 floors lower than the tower roof floor. So it cannot be the tower, what is also clear from the presence of a small window without glass.
Finally, there's light from the window. Which is reflected by certain parts of Valeris into the spectator's eye. I believe it's pretty good alogether, yesyes :D THe picture I mean, despite the qritiq. The characters are always good :D
Whom did they kill anyway? o.O

Hello, thanks for the large comment.
About the windows, yeah... they are finally able to create glass windows - even large ones. I was thinking about it and they finally made a technological breakthrough here. ^^
I admit that the location of the room is not completely accurate. It was supposed to be in the center of Riverstone, but well... I just wanted a tower of your cool architecture in the artwork. XD
Point for you.
Glad you like the lighting and stuff. The lighting and colouring was important to me.

I know I cannot satisfy you with "It's awesome! :D" ;) But that's good so.
Okay. I won't say anything against that, after all even ancient romans knew that. Even though not 2x2 meters, but more like 30x30 cm. The main problem remains the transport - how do you get a 250 kilo glass plate up to the tower and put it exactly to place? ;)
Heheh, didn't want to be tooo wiseassy, but I was curious nonetheless ;)
1: "A murder! Aaaah! Who was it?"
V: "No idea, but this might be a clue!" *poses with the knife*
1: *takes photos of the clue with surroundings*
Sometimes, plausible stories can be tricky. I know it myself, when I have to defend an idea with reason ("why did you make the house tilted?" "For more dynamic composition" "er.... not good enough") ;)

Aw, well... but you can at least appreciate the traditional colouring here! After all, this is not done by just some clicks and a "gradient tool"....!!!!! ^____^
I know you usually prefer B/W artworks - but that's why I uploaded the line art, too.
And yeah, I'm going to be more brave about hips and stuff next time.
Guess this happens when starting with the torso first.... ^^" Yeah, ok!!!

Alrighty then! ^_^ But you did see HER, did you not:

You see, VALERIS is not the only woman from the last months! ^^"
Btw, my friend likes/requested huge boobs.....

I never thought I'd see Valeris again, but then again who could ask for more when it comes from you. Very impressive, I already knew of her prowess in combat but now this requires a good amount of deductive reasoning, hope she's up to the task. As much as I admire her attractive visage, I also like the design of the towers outside, it has some resemblance to um.....what's the term.....oh yeah, medieval Gothic architecture(with pointed arches to boot). Well, Valeris here looked better than ever(her shoulders are noticeably broader, which of course makes her look more imposing and also much more impressionable). You've never ceased to be impressive each time I see something new on your gallery. Anyways, Cheers!
Hello there and thanks very much for the large comment! ^^
Well, "never say never"... ya know. In fact, I did draw VALERIS a few times already... but only digital and in little occasions. NOW, she's back with a huge traditional piece!
I'm glad you like hier facial design for it's really important to me that she has "character" and a distinctive face. Also, Reptilian females are not easy to draw. ^^"
The architecture was done by a friend of mine, who helped me a lot there. But still, I'm happy you like it - after all, it's important to me to have such things in my world.
THANKSSSSSSSSSSS!
