Short version: He was a genetic experiment, something went wrong and completely removed his eyes. He got converted into an android through nanotechnology, but due to having no eyes, never got visual sensors. Talynn, the one who converted him, improvised with a rather advanced piece of technology off of a helmet he salvaged.
