This picture has a bit of backstory to it, but it's not actually *done* yet. or at least not in it's entirety.
I'm sure none of you remember when I posted a picture of Raukalo, my Rakshasa supermage. He's a bit of an egotist and definitely a bit more snarky than most would prefer, but somehow he ended up getting mixed up with a fairly straight edged paladin.
The Justiciary didn't like that much, and the two are basically constantly hunted by them - half because Raukalo may or may not have committed some heinous murderous crimes, and half because they're pretty sure Raukalo somehow managed to corrupt the paladin.
This is a somewhat vaguely backgrounded scene in which our heroes (subjectively I suppose) are breaking out of a Justiciary dungeon after a bit of a brawl. I could've played up the physical injury and exhaustion a bit more, but I didn't want to over do it.
They're a cute couple, IMO.

Yeah, I remember reading up on them, and apparently it's one of the traits that most other races find 'unsettling,' as if the idea of slavery of all other races wasn't XD Still, I really like the idea of having one that's...different. Also I lol'd at the picture because my D&D nerd came out and went: He's prolly a Paladin of Freedom
x3 sadly my D&D knowledge is a bit limited when it comes to... a lot of things, so you'll hafta let me in on that reference ;3
but Raukalo isn't exactly... different - he's still rather spiteful towards humans and most other things that aren't rakshasa - he just suppresses it because he has feelings for said paladin in particular. Maybe he'll warm up to the hairless monkeys in time :V
but probably not if they keep sending justicars to kill them |:T
also yeah that's weird that they find *THAT* unsettling when there's a monster that spits stomach acid out of it's face and has no arms or real mouth >3>
I'd hate to live in D&D's world. the sheer amount of fucked up things that could kill you in fucked up ways is horrifying.

I don't ever recall reading anything about them having backwards hands. I've been looking into it out of curiosity, and all I can find is one comment about it not being mentioned in the older monster manuals. Too trivial for me to dig my books out of the basement, I'll just accept that they have weird hands. =P
