Roodaroo Rebuild Plan Head
Your digital camera and a graphic program like Photoshop can be a useful tool even in costuming work. I built this head for my Roodaroo kangaroo costume about 4-5 years ago and while it was technically good, I was never happy with the angular look of the muzzle or the squared off back of the head. The expression simply wasn't friendly either. It needed work.
I thought I would just make a new head from scratch, but I did spend some time to make this one and I wondered if I could actually rebuild this one instead. Out comes the digital camera, then start drawing new lines over the existing image. I can see where I need to add more foam and body to the head, how to change the muzzle to a broader one with a nice silly grin and add a change in the markings.
Now I have a battle plan. I'll have to defur most of the head, but I think the results will be worth it. Never be afraid to go back and rebuild.
