Me... in all my over-weight glory. :c
But... I'm not just posting this so you can see how I really look. Nope...
I REALLY want to start losing weight, and to keep track of it.
I am 200 freakin pounds exactly... ;-; WAY too much. I do NOT like this.
Please, don't tell me I look fine the way I am or whatever. I am not happy with this, so I want to work on it. It makes me very slow and tired a lot, and I tend to feel very gross as well.
About a year ago I was 140 or so. I want to get back to that weight, or lower. I don't want to go under 120 pounds, though. I do not want to be super skinny. I'd like to have some weight, but not this amount.
It's me eating so much and not working out much that has me to this weight... plus, lots and LOTS of depression and stress in the past. That's what started it all. Now it's mainly the eating and not working out.
I'm going to make myself eat less.. that's my first goal.
I will take a picture of myself every month until I get to where I want to be.
I hope this works...
Also, this is what is inspiring me to do this: http://themetapicture.com/determination/
I want to feel good about myself again, and not feel gross. :c
I think the number one thing I hate about all of this is the beginning of a double chin... xD
AUGH, BUT YEAH, HATE IT. ;-; I WILL get back to a healthy weight. I AM DETERMINED.
Iris, my bat in the background, will be in every picture, too.

eee shorty!! i wanna loose some weight too i shall cheer you on in your mission!
id like to get to a healthy size not like those skinny model bithces >_<
after two babies i kinda need to loose those baby pounds.
mm if you want to east less eat more filling foods, fiber is your best friend~ and realize when your hungry and when your just peckish (that's my biggest issue) find a healthy treat (like carrots for crunchy foods, raisins for sweet tooth issues like meh mwhahah nuts for salty) and use that as your "distraction" for wanting to go munch on something. try to eat only when hungry, first step of weight loss is getting past the mental games you do already that you don't really realize. then comes ya know the annoying excersize and such ^_-
so best of luck to you shorty! you can do it!

I have been using this and it helped a LOT <3 I have lost 30ish pounds since January, a lot of how it helped me was the fact that it showed me what I was eating and helped me make healthier choices so I could stay on track for my goal. (My mind kinda turned it into a budget thing...with the calories and exercise being like money for me to spend and earn, weird I know but hey it worked xp)
It also yelled at me every time I started to eat too little.
If ya wanna add me if you decide to use it add me my name is SaffiGreif

Transmitting moral support NOW! You are getting some seriously good advice above and I just want to add some things from a Dr.'s perspective; it is a medical/ biological thing! I suggest actually calculating your your Body Mass Index regularly, talking with your Dr. about your goals if you have not already, eat a lot of fruits and veggies, drink water, write down the EXACT reason/motivation you have to lose wait, make sure you get all the essential vitamins and minerals, exercise responsibly(preferably in a fun way), and just to repeat what was said because it is that important, NEVER EVER STARVE YOURSELF! We are all here for support when you need it and I am sure that soon enough Shorty will be flying again! ;3 *HUGS*
you can do whatever you set your mind to!! over the last 7 months, i managed to lose 30 pounds, just by changing my diet. i struggled with my weight for a very long time, i tried all the pills and potions and nothing worked. i tried ridiculously restricted diets as well and those didn't work either.
i know you'll be able to do it! i never thought i could until i found proper motivation. just stick to it and before you know it, you'll be just how you want to

It's okay. I understand entirely. Sometimes people aren't happy with their weight and need to change.
Why, look at me. Right around February, I was 147lbs and drastically underweight. I knew that a change needed to happen. Since then, I've put on another ten pounds, and at 157lbs, I feel that I'm right where I should be ^w^ I feel healthy and fit and happy. And if I can change, then so can you!

my mom found eating less actually doesn't help in loosing weight. its also not healthy. she's had a lot of trouble loosing for so many years but now with some help from a nutritionist she's lost a good few pounds that she needs to :). if you'd like i can ask her what she's doing thats helping her now and perhaps it can work for you. All the best luck! :)
Hey! I'm in the same boat as you!nI want to get down to about 140 lbs. I've been trying out a version of the paleo diet, going along the low carb path. Its hard, because i love sammiches, and flour alternatives are so expensive u_u I have mild celiac and flours and breads already hurt my guts if I eat more than a single serving anyways, so...
Anyways! What's the plan? WHat's your diet and workout regimin look like? For a while i was doing the 5000 steps a day thing but I find its just too time consuming. walking 5 miles a day takes about an hour and a half for me to do. It would be different if I were getting some of those steps in at my job, but alack, alas, I work at a desk, and my hands are always busy so there isn't a lot of free time to do desk workouts either. :<

don't eat so less that you don't get nutrients. the key to fitness is a balanced diet, an excersie routine that matches your calorie intake, and lots of sweating. With sweating you'll need to drink a ton of water, drinking water will help you not be hungry. hunger is sometimes thirst in disguise.
I'm trying my best to lose weight too and the way i'm doing it isn't safe. i'm starving litterally. i don't get to eat much food. but i sweat a lot. i know i'm losing weight but not the right way. it's mostly my muscle that's going, not so much as fat. it's not healthy to starve so be careful. i have no choice being homeless right now but i'm trying to find a solid address so i can get food stamps.

Being overweight sucks and it is so hard to loose. Was easy getting there but not so easy getting rid of it. I am struggling myself right now it is a constant battle. I wish you the best of luck. Just, don't let yourself be discourage and celebrate your achievements no matter how small they seem. Any ounce not still on you is an amazing step forward to your goal.
I hope you don't find this to be some kind of bragging but in the last year, I did something similar. I was about 210 a year and a half ago (or more so) and now I'm at 135 (138 when I get too naughty and eat too much chocolate) but I managed to maintain my weight for the last year with no real issue. To lose that kind of weight will take a lot of work and I'm willing to throw in support in all I can. If you want to chat with anyone send me a note. I have my MSN and chat messengers on my page as well, but for some reason they're being le dum and won't let me know someone's added me and then I can't talk to them. It's weird, but if I add you on first it seems to be okay.
I used to fail a lot during times I wanted to eat less and exercise, and after I did some research on nutrition, that's when I really shed the pounds because a lot of times you can eat almost nothing but still have it be too much. As well, in my case, I eat quite a bit, but a lot of it is healthy and low in calorie so it doesn't really offset anything.
I saw a link to http://www.myfitnesspal.com/ and that seems like a very good website upon first glance, I wish I had discovered that during my weightloss attempts :p If you like to cook or would like to give it a shot, I would recommend this site: http://www.eatingwell.com/ because a lot of the recipes are very good, especially for it being low fat. There are some desserts there as well, I've tried the cheesecake ones and they seem all right. After my life change I found myself craving less sweets. Of course I still eat chocolate, hell I go to McDonald's on occasion, but it's been in moderation and I don't nearly crave it as much.
Good luck, I'm sure you'll do fantastic, especially when you got all this support going on here :)

I am on the same mission, I did lose about 60 pounds a couple years ago, but I still want to lose about 50 more and get back down to between 120-130 myself. (The weight gain was from being pregnant, and though I lost some right away, I had a c-section, and then had a really bad spell of depression too, so I know how unmotivated it makes you.)
I'll cheer you on from my little corner of the world, and be here if you need someone to vent to in a similar position. I know eating smaller meals more frequently helps up your metabolism, if nobody mentioned that yet. I cut back to eating one meal a day until someone told me that can make you GAIN weight because it kills your metabolism and then your body just wants to hold onto all the food it does get. ;3;
