My best friend passed away this evening, June 26, 2012. I met him just a few weeks after he was born, in May 1998 and we were bonded as best friends for over 14 years. For the first few years, he was a Livestock Guarding Dog, working at Messerschmidt Stables in Altenstadt, Germany protecting horses and cows. I brought him to America in 2003. We had been nearly inseparable since. Today he waited for me to return from work so I could say goodbye and hold him one last time.
