Made some headway in the modelling of, to date, my most complex piece ever. already breaching the 250000poly mark.
Also with individual compenents mapped and skinned, this will be one of the most well textured models I've ever made.
as you can see, I'm having a real tough time remodelling the wing and airframe to keep it consistant with the theme,, the tail is still in the drawing board stage....
but.. since the majority of you reading this are looking actual furry stuff... you probably wouldn't really understand what I'm talking about.

The modeling itself is nice if you can manage a good render time, but I feel as though the hull is decidedly modern in comparison to the low-tech wings. Iy clashes a bit.
As though it is too perfectly aerodynamic.
Not that it would be entirely correct, but i'd end up making the body look like a swan or a duck, something more consistent with how people approached design in the past.
Then again there is a good chance that's decidedly not the direction you want.

I missed the last render of this...oops.
I'm digging the stylized redesign of the wing. The aircraft as a whole seems to be coming together nicely too. But what are the three ribbed, grey slots in the wing? I'm guessing flaps, but they look too far retracted to be of much use. It looks like you're putting some thought into the control mechanisms for the tail section of the craft as well. Props for it.
Keep up the good work. You mentioned this would test your resolve...the end result will be worth it.

Congratulations on the detailled modelling so far. I love the little mechanical details you put in.
Especially around the rotor and the tail.
Really an eye for detail there.
250k polys does seem to be a bit much, but I have to admit I've never done anything of that level of detail.
