~~He stared at her, this girl he'd only met a few hours earlier, and wondered at the giant wolf she leaned so casually on.
"Andrew. I thought you'd never come." she smiled, but it was forced past the worried frown on her face.
Beneath her, a low growl rumbled out of the wolf's chest, though it didn't bare it's teeth.
Andrew hesitated a few feet away, eying the wolf warily. "Is it safe?" he asked.
Now it was Elli's turn to hesitate. She glanced at the wolf and batted at it's nose lightly. "Will you be nice, Kael?" she asked. "Or do I have to keep holding you down?"
The wolf rumbled out another growl, pinning back it's ears, but laid it's head lightly on it's front paws and snorted it's submission.
Elli nodded, smiling faintly as some of her frown melted away. "Alright, now that that's settled...." She stood slowly, then walked over and wrapped him in a hug. "I was worried about you when I heard about the fire at your apartment, even more so when I saw that Hunter was the one the police tied to it. I thought...." she paused as her voice choked up slightly, but recovered and resumed quickly, "I thought he might have gotten you."
Andrew chuckled softly, eagerly returning the embrace. "Of course he didn't. You didn't think I'd lasted a thousand years without running into more than my fair share of Hunters, now, did you?" He kissed her cheek lightly, eliciting another growl from the wolf.
With a sigh, he released her, looking over her shoulder at the giant black creature. "Well don't just sit there and growl at me Kael, Shift into human and tell me what your damn problem is." he snapped.
Eager to obey, the wolf leaped to it's feet, reared back on it's hind legs, and began to change into human form.
Once there, Andrew reluctantly tossed over his long trench coat, which Kael wrinkled his nose at but slipped into anyway for modesty's sake.
"I don't like this, leech." He snarled plainly. "Wolves were never meant to mate with Vampires. I don't see how this is possible outside of some trick of magic that you vampires seem so fond of."
Elli sighed. "Well don't sugarcoat it for us, Kael." she grumbled, turning to face him as well and holding Andrew's hand loosely. "like it or not, he's my mate, Big brother. You knew that someday I'd find one, and you knew you'd have to let me go when I did. So can we stop with this dominance nonsense and just be happy for once? I've found my mate!"
Kael opened his mouth to comment, then thought better of it and snapped his teeth shut with a loud clack and snorted, looking away. After a moment, he looked back at Andrew, eyes blazing. "Alright. Like I said, I don't like this. But since she's so sure..... I'll back off for now. But before you relax and get all excited, let me warn you about something." He clenched and unclenched his jaw, and fists, then continued as the fire in his impossibly bright orange eyes blazed higher. "If you hurt so much as one hair on her head.... I'll rip you to shreds and stuff the pieces of your limbs down your throat." He spat in the dirt at his feet, then spun on his heels and stalked off into the brush.
Elli sighed, and a few moments later, an enraged howl rose up from the trees as Kael continued away in wolf form.
"I told you he wouldn't take it well..." she said, shaking her head and turning to face him again. "But in all honesty that's the best way he could have reacted right there." She smiled faintly up at him, cupping his cheek in her hand and stroking it softly with her thumb.
He smiled down at her, resting his nose against hers. "Well I'm glad then, because if he had tried to keep us apart.... I worry about how well my self restraint would have held out."~~


Just a random little piece of a storyline that came to mind as I drew this.... figured I might as well share it along with the art. lol hope you enjoyed it. :3

also, anyone wanna tell me how to get italics in here? >.<' four years of posting on here and I still have no idea how to make things italic.... lol help please? X3
