My boyfriend did that game where you put change into that thing with the platforms and water for charity to try and win and he got top prize-- a burrito.
So the rats got a special dinner tonight!
I don't know how Gabriel managed to get at it alone for this pic, but he did. XD

Why is it good for their respiratory system?
Sorry if I am getting annoying asking so many questions.
I plan to get a rat in the distant future and right now I don't know squat about them. XD; I have done a bit of reading on them though, but I know it is still not enough.
I love rice and chocolate. x3 So, I guess when I get a rat friend we will be buddies.

I actually do NOT know the biology behind it, but it is recommended on many websites and rat communities I am a part of. There are some great groups on Facebook, if you have one.
They're not like dogs-- chocolate won't kill them so there's no worries there.
And no! You're not annoying at all. My good friend
(breeder) as well as
(rat rescuer) have much more experience and many more rats than I do, so they're good people to know as well. n_n

From what I've read dark chocolate has a compound/chemical in it that relaxes the airways to make breathing easier. Rats are born/get from birth a bacteria called Mycoplasmosis which lives in their lungs and stress and illness can cause it to flare up. Many rats never experience respiratory issues and some seem to have resistance to it but many do especially those from pet stores or rescues experience problems with it.
Also get rats in at least same sex pairs, you will have happier and healthier rats if you do so. Single rats are usually sad, easily stressed, and more anxious which can lead to more health issues down the road. Throwing it in there because a lot of people dont know that.

Oh no. :( That's no good. Yeah, they'll just eat ANYTHING they can get in their mouths. I got worried because I had some sticks from rock candy in this holder and my rats found them and chewed them up and ate part of them because they still had traces of sugar on them. Luckily it didn't hurt them but man. :/ They're so naughty sometimes.
I think it would be cooler to get a custom earring instead. Many jewelers can create custom silver(or gold if you have the cash) jewelry. They carve a little wax figure and use that to create a mold and then pour the molten silver or gold to create it. I saw a friends dad create a horse ring for her that way once. You get a once of a kind custom piece and no worries about feeding or caring for an animal that's hard to care for(and avoid legal issues if your state bars them as pets)
