Shadow claw isn't a shadow move because Shadow pokemon are only covered in a pair of spinoff games, and nintendo decided to leave them there.
Plus both of the spinoffs were in the time of RSE, not DPPt when it would become relevant.
On a side note, I agree - it SUCKS that they took away the dark pulse TM. D=

You're not understanding me at all. I'm not saying they should have made them shadow moves. What I'm saying is, if they aren't shadow moves, they shouldn't have "shadow" in the title as if they were shadow moves. Shadow claw should be called something else to avoid confusion.
You're right, I did miss your point.
But I still don't see how they'd cause any kind of confusion outside of Colliseum and XD, and that wouldn't even be a problem for shadow claw since it didn't exist then.
Kinda like playing a gen 1 game and wondering why magnemite isn't dual typed in the case of shadow ball.
Still, it begs the question; why would nintendo change the type of a move entirely, short of introducing a new type into the main games (a la bite)?
Shadow wasn't even a real type, per se.

You're still not quite getting me... Anyone who got used to the shadow moves in those games and then heard of a move called "shadow claw" might be a little bit misled at first (as I was). so, since shadow moves already existed (ableit in a different spin-off series, but still), the move should not have been named the same way shadow moves were. I already said Shadow Ball doesn't really count in this case, because it was there first. I never said the TYPE of the move (or even the NAME) should be CHANGED NOW, I said it shouldn't have been called what it is in the first place.
