This is really neat, I love monster work~ Wish I was better at it. I love the way it seems almost jawless.

It is jawless. There is just something about that design which seems to go so well with primeval maws of monstrous creatures. Its just one more element away from human design making it one element closer towards something truly frightening which we cannot fathom.

Yay for amorphous horrors, the further from humanity you go, the more horrific, but the best part is mixing human elements with monstrous, heee.

what is the most horrific monster of your past? Was it in literature or a movie? For me it was the creature from John Carpenter's 1982 remake of "The Thing" which was really supposed to be a Shoggoth from H.P. Lovecraft literature.

Um, Shopping store mannequins, I saw a lower torso of one when I was young, and had nightmares about it. I've never liked them since.

And the whole 'Another brick in the wall' scene from 'The wall', with those freaky masks, and the huge coffee grinder thing.

If it doesn't have jaws, how can it close it's mouth to prevent unwanted debris finding it's way into it's belly? How does it find it's prey without sense of hearing or seeing? If it's bottom constantly slides over "Flak and miscellaneous shreds of rustic metallurgy" why doesn't it get shred open?
So much for reality. Also if evolution had brought forth such an abomination it surely wouldn't have attached the "arms" to the upper region of it's body. And oh, the angle of the legs make it impossible to jump with.

It doesn't have jaws, however the muscles around the maw allow the teeth to contract inwards and such like a sea-lamprey does. Like the stomach of the Panda Bear is lined with fatty tissues and thick gelatinous organic matter to prevent shards of bamboo from puncturing it, so to is the stomach of this beast... but much thicker of course since we're talking about debris. It is mentioned in the description this thing has sight, and the tongue is sensitive enough to detect vague scents. As for the stomach constantly sliding on the ground, it has developed a durable underbelly hide much like that of a Rhino's but thicker and more solid, but still able to stretch a slight amount for when the beast is lunging towards its prey.

Well obviously this thing is a bipedal character as it's hands and feet are significantly different both visually and from a functional standpoint. Being a bipedal figure it once used to walk on its feet alone, but many generations of overindulgent gluttony on smaller prey have started an evolutionary change in the species where its born with this corpulent design now. Also, it was never said this creature can jump, rather it Lunges as quoted in the description.

nah, I got into the world of 3d modelling as my profession. Though as a freelance 2d artist, perhaps. Only if someone ever came to me with a job though, I don't believe I would seek it out yet.
