The Caochladh or Cao are a solitary omnivore species. They are also an elemental species. There are 5 subspecies of the Cao which are the Deer, Gazelle, Moose, Caribou, And the Gemsbok and have three variety of tails which are the ‘Second head’ or ‘Snake/Dragon’ Head tail , Scorpion, and a ‘Normal \’ Tail which looks like said species that they are named after tail. The Cao’s ‘flaps’ that they can rise up are used as a mating display, or as a threat display, they can also be used while they are hunting, when they grab the pray they can ‘Hold’ on to it with the flaps as they are curved I very small and sharp teeth Making it almost impossible for their pray to get away once captured.
Cao’s only really get together during the mating seasons witch is spring and fall and the female can have up to 4 young at a time, Though a female that conceives a ‘Litter’ during the Spring will not breed again in the fall. The ‘litter’ will stay with its mother through the winter months and be chased away as soon as the next spring comes. Cao males are sexually mature at the age or 3 as the females are sexually mature at the age of 4 ½ to 6 ½. There can be hybrids of Caos but they are very, very rare and almost all that acre is in captivity. During the mating seasons no matter what subspecies they are all males have a very fluffy neck an the fur around/on the tail grows much longer as well, they also grow large horns and they constantly have there mouth(s) open scenting for any females that might be near by” Male Cao are about a foot bigger than females are and much, much meaner especially during the mating seasons. Male deer are on Average about 6-7 feet wares the females can only reach 4-5 ½ feet tall.
Caos inceptively isn’t uncommon or really that rare to see though most that are held as pets aren’t held by humans, they are held by the Elves , Demons , Orcs , and trolls as they are all strong enough or have the magic to control these ferocious beasts.
Caos diets consist of Deer, moose, elk, caribou, gemsbok, antelope, gazelle, rabbits, bird , the occasional human if they are hungry enough to try and kill one and if they are in captivity they kill a created bird demon called a Pexwind. What a Cao eats depends on where they live and how big they are, like a Moose Cao could easily eat up two full grown Bull Moose a day wares the Gazelle couldn’t even bring down a moose.
About the ‘Snake/dragon’ Head tail
The second head tail is a quite common tail among the Caos and actually is very, very useful for them. The tail itself aids in hunting, finding mates and defending them it can also eat (what it eats leads to the same stomach as what the main head eats). It is also very intelligent and can actually speak languages other than the Caos own language. Some of them have also been named separately from the fest of the creature and will respond when it is called.
About the Scorpion tail
The Scorpion tail is very common among the smaller species of the Caos as it have a very toxic venom in it and it very helpful for the weaker Caos .
The moose Cao
The moose Cao is the biggest and the meanest in the Cao family. The moose is also the only ones that have 4 eyes on their second tails and the males have a very sharp dew claw. Moose cao are looked up to by the others for how strong and fearless they are.
The Caribou Caos
The caribou Cao is the second biggest but not the second meanest, they are actually on the more gentle side as far as the Caos go. Caribou are one of the two subspecies of cao that can keep their horns year round.
The Gemsbok Caos
The gemsbok Caos ranks the second meanest in the Cao Family. They are one of the two subspecies of Cao that can have horns year round. Gemsboks tend to have very large territories and one male of the gemsboks can perduse up to 45 offspring in one matting season. They Are also considered one of the cannibalistic Caos, if a male were to kill another in a battle for a mate/territory the victor would dine upon the losers corpse, it is also not uncommon to see them hunting down there smaller relatives (like the gazelle ) for a meal.
The Deer Caos
The deer Cao is a very clever and mischievous Cao often playing tricks on their larger cousins. The deer Cao is also a cabalistic species but they do not hunt other subspecies of Cao, they will strictly hunt other deer Caos. They often have large territories that sometimes intertwine with eat others. Mae deer Caos tend to keep females herded into the middle of their territories in tell the winter starts. Males that keep their females in their Territories are oddly protective of them and of the young they perduese, which is a very odd trait for any Cao to have and is also the reason why the deer Caos out number all of their cousins.
The Gazelle Caos
The gazelle Cao is a very shy cao. They often live in little burrow or dens to keep out of sight from the larger caos. Gazelle females will often group together during the birthing seasons and stay with each other for a few months to keep there young safe.
Elements
Caos can be latterly any element. The only thing that really changes is what floats around there hooves/feet , So if there was a water cao next to an earth/rock cao the only way you could really tell which one was witch was that one would have rocks floating around its feet wears the other would have bubbles. The caos element can give it special powers over that surtan element like making something burst in to flame by wishing it so or parting a lake so they don’t have to walk around it.
