Needlefelt lil' Ahkahna likes to play hide'n'seek in my garden! She thinks that the yellow flowers might help her camouflage.
For lil' Ahkahna I used quite a few different colors of roving - including a color called "Dafodil" for her belly and ears. Her eyes are individually-set blue glass-beads, and her wings have been felted over a wire armature so they are gently poseable*.
It took me about eight hours to make her.
*I know that Ahkahna's creations - the Taschevah - technically keep their wings in a pouch while they're young'uns, but I wanted to try this technique of making wings and since I was already working on this it seemed like a good place to practice.
