;o; My favorite dogs ever. I am still determined to find one for myself. And not from the poopy rescue who will only adopt out to people who own their homes and have huge yards...my dedication to keeping the dog happy, healthy and busy should be enough. ;w; Silly rescue people. He's such a doll. I look forward to seeing more of him, in art or photo form.

Rescues want to know that the dog will have a forever home, and not just end back up at the rescue again, or worse dead :\ So their rules may oust some poeple, but in the end, they have the dog's best interests at heart. Best I can say is work for a rescue. Let them know that you are willing to make up for what you don't have and once they know you mean what you say, they'll probably happily let you give a forever home to one of their dogs.

The nearest rescue is about three hours away. xD And I don't drive. But I have a vet I take my chihuahua to, and was taking my rats to when I had them, who gave great references for me, my landlord gave one, but they only want to house corgis with people with yards, so they can run free. I'm sure if I did get to know them my chances would be better, and I know they have the best interest of the dog in mind, but it seems, just that if someone met those requirements, so obviously have more money, doesn't mean they'd be better owners. I'm just bitter. I was so close to having a corgi-butt of my own, and the only thing against me was living in an apartment. They couldn't take me at my word that I'd walk him at least twice a day and take him to the dog park at least every weekend, and any weekday that I could manage. I do understand, but I also know I'd be a good corgi-mommy, I'd love the jogging companion, since my little dog isn't up for too much of that.

Very true, you'd have a little more luck going through a breeder, I got extremely lucky with my breeder, she was having a litter to place with people who love the breed, not for show, but for good health and temperament to be cherished forever.

I just found out about a local breeder who has no website or other advertising who only breeds once they have at least five people interested and viable parent dogs. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed for them, and trying to find some friends who may be interested in puppies too so they'll breed again. Seems like most breeders around here are really stingy about breeding, which I think is a really good thing, leaves no unwanted puppies. I also don't know of any breeders who breed for show quality, but they do still register the dogs with AKC or CKC. Some good responsible people. Sorry if I'm just derping off here. I get excited about corgis. And sad at my lack of corgi love. xD
