...Ok, so this requires some explanation. XDD For the past couple months, I've been using and highly enjoying a fitness game (yes, seriously) on my phone. It's called Zombies, Run!, and it's like nothing else I've ever tried before. I am not an athletic person. At all. Exercise is boring. This makes it much less so. Nothing's guaranteed to get you running like the adrenaline jolt of a dozen zombies moaning in your ear. Best $8 I've ever invested, so far as I'm concerned.
But!
I've noticed the game has a few... odd proclivities. XDD As you run, the story unfolds as a series of dramatized "transmissions" in your headset, interspersed with selections from whatever music playlist you give the app. While the music plays, you collect supplies at random, which you use to level up your home base once you finish your run. Some of the items you pick up include packs of underwear, sports bras, pants, bottles of whiskey, phones, power cables, etc. I've been bemused more than once at the amount of underwear and bras I sometimes collect on a run. These are things you supposedly just find laying around as you navigate the post-apocalyptic landscape.
My only conclusion thus far has been that zombies are a bunch of freaking perverts with nothing better to do than steal people's underwear and leave it all over the place. Seems like as reasonable an explanation as any! =D
Anyway, if you have a smart phone (iPhone, Android, and soon Windows phones too), and any interest at all in walking, jogging, or running, you should totally get this app. It's a huge amount of fun and it doesn't penalize you for not keeping a certain pace, so it's great for people of any fitness level. Have I sold you on it yet? =D No, really! It's awesome!

It's a South Park reference. There was an episode where gnomes were stealing everyone's underpants for their business plan, which went:
Phase One: Collect Underpants
Phase Two:
Phase Three: Profit!
Yes, that's right, they left Phase Two blank. The whole episode was actually a parody about corporations and how they run.

Ehehehe, it does actually have a "zombie chase" feature where it will randomly tell you "warning, zombies detected", and then it starts to beep a steady tone while the groans get louder. The tone speeds up, and it warns you how close the zombies are getting, and you have to increase your speed by 20% for up to a minute to escape. If the zombies get too close, you just drop some of the supplies you've collected to throw them off. =D
What's with all these Zombies anyway? I couldn't help but chuckle when I read your comic because of an incident I experienced yesterday. While I was browsing through the grocery store I kept seeing a mother and her two children, a girl of about seven or eight years old, and a boy of about five. The girl was pretty well behaved, but the boy kept stumbling about with his arms outstretched and pretending to be a "Zombie." Despite his mother telling to behave he kept the act up all through the store. I kind of mused to myself that if we adults had corrected the child, we might be frustrating a future "Zombie Movie" director.
Hehehe. I dunno, though apparently there's a correlation between zombie movies, vampire movies, and which political party is in power at the time in this country. The shambling hoards are popular at the moment. I've been using/playing this app since March, though. =D
(Thumps head.) Now why didn't I think of that? I mean, could it be that the Zombies represent the shambling, mindless hordes out of work and wandering the countryside consuming anything they can get? I can understand what you mean though. My Niece got to take place in a "Zombie Walk" along Hollywood Blvd. as part of her Cinematic Studies last year. I thought it was kind of cool to play a member of the undead and get class credit for it.
Zombie walks are awesome. If I recall the correlation When Democrats are in power zombies are popular because it shows their fears, large numbers of conformist, consumers that don't think coming after you to pull you apart. While Republicans are in office vampires are popular because liberals are out to corrupt them and their children with sex and anything else taboo immoral etc
