As far as I was concerned, Uhura *was* Star Trek. Everyone else was an incidental character. :)

Ah, sexy Uhura, I have to admin, that I love classic Star Trek a lot, Uhura was sure a real eyecandy and not only that, she was the best communications officer you could ever have.

It was a combination racist/sexiest thing at the time. They did get the first white/black kiss in the history of TV, and were dang near banned by certain southern states. You can only push the money men so far after all.
