that sure as hell surprises me though!
you probably would if you watched your half-eaten pet hamster bleed to death in your hands after your cat was able to attacked it because of a mistake you made trying to say it.
all the therapy was was discarding the few photos we had at the time so that she would gradually fade from my mind as i grew older. with nothing to remind me of her, she slowly started to fade from my conscious and was able to come to terms.
took about...10-15 years to overcome her death.

it's actually not all bad...
five years to accept and not be a sad little emo kid, and about..5 or so years I was basically sidetracked with school, making friends and socializing with the general school audience, the other pets that came along, as well as M-rated games and R-rated films, and just growing up in general, I matured to the point where the bloody nightmare just..didn't traumatize me anymore.
