The earth shook as shocktroops poured endlessly from the citadel, marching to an unspoken rhythm, boarding starships in neatly ordered ranks. They were ready to fight and die for their king, each one empowered by the alien technology he had acquired and entrusted to them, their own natural strength and speed augmented by their suits of armor and weapons. No force in the galaxy could stand before them.
A rumbling explosion tore through their ranks, one of the starships tilting to its side before bursting into a ball of fire, the other ships nearby trying to take off to prevent getting caught in the spreading flames. A glowing green light leapt from the fire, landing on one of the nearby ships. Spreading his feet for balance the white-haired lantern raised his fist into the air, slamming it down into the hull of the ship. The metal twisted, bending under the force of the blow, the whole ship seeming to bend in half from the point of impact. He was already moving onto the next before an explosion rippled through the ship, the green lantern roaring out a battle cry.
None of them would be leaving this planet, not so long as he still stands.
The fleeing ships taken care of, he landed in the middle of the assembled forces on the ground, a green shockwave spreading from the point of impact and pushing them all back. It was unbelievable! They should be more than a match for a squad of green lanterns, much less a lone one such as this. Yet he was decimating their forces!
LJ grinned, the swirling energy around him solidifying once more, enshrouding his form in vibrant green energy. He may not be as flamboyant as the other corps, and lacked the "creativity" necessary to form truly complex constructs, however...
He spread his feet and took a fighting stance, the air around him rippling with energy. His feet dug into the ground, causing the metal floor to warp as he took a step forward. His piercing eyes glowed green, spiraling around his pupils and practically radiating power. He may not be able to form such ornate outer constructs, but he was actually able to internalize the energy of the ring, strengthening and enhancing his own natural abilities; any external constructs he created played off of that. It was much like the shocktroops' own armor, but magnified to the nth degree.
He glanced at the citadel again, smoke billowing out of its central tower...That blinding white light...It had called the attention of all on the battlefield and allowed the fox to turn the tide of battle. Still...That was where Forest should be. Where he was heading, after he'd cleaned up here.
The green lantern gritted his teeth. He was among them in an instant, before they realized he had moved, a green flash of light in a sea of dark-armored soldiers. They would not leave here to spread their terror to other planets, and then the galaxy. His friend had trusted him to stop them.
He smirked as their ranks fell before him. That wolf worried too much.
A continuation of the previous picture/story! I wanted it to contrast the dark colors of the first picture, so I tried to make it more light...I feel so out of practice though. Ah well.
LJ loved it, so I guess that's all that matters. X3

Not gunna lie here...that vignette is GUCHI. Eloquent, yet succinct. Articulate, but never garrulous - and it really helps orchestrate both the image and the unseen.
Plus, that iron-embossed, unyielding visage LJ has slapped on it all sorts of fantastic~! I might not be fangasming as hard as the ol' vulpine, but I definitely approve~.

Oh, wow, well, thank you! X3 I usually have a story to go along with every picture I do, it just helps me to remember why I'm drawing them! I just don't always post them. X3 Though at Humbug's urging I've been trying to do so more often at least.
Glad you liked it though! :)
