I must say this is the silliest costume I have made to date <^.^'>
Well, I wouldn't exactly call it "fan-made", being that I was never a fan of the over-hyped WWF that was famous during my junior high years.....HOWEVER, being that since then I have a facination for sock mitts (sock puppets included naturally), and that I have been facinated by them since I was like four years old, it was only natural that MANKIND (alter ego of McFoley) would catch my eye with his sidekick/ sock, Mr. Socko .
I guess I can speak for everyone (at least the US folks of my genteration) when I say that "WHO DOESN"T KNOW MANKIND???" , heh...
I know my friends must be laughing right now at the silliness of this costume. <^.^''> ....but *shrugs* , I felt I needed to post it.
COSTUME CONSISTS OF:
-Dress shirt: Just a simple long-sleeve dress shirt I had that was not worth keeping, so I altered the sleeves and bottom edging by simply ripping them.
-Undershirt: Was just a plain dickies white shirt, which I painted the "Have a Nice Day" smiley face on it, done so with a plate to draw out the circle, and tulip fabric paint that I used to paint over the pencil sketched markings. The smiley reference was taken from an online source.
Pants: Are some old sweat pants that were going to be donated to the thrift store a while back. I knew they'd come in handy one day.
Sock: The crew sock lost its "partner" long ago and just sat in a bag with other single socks, hoping to find a use some day. Well, now its a costume sock puppet .....on the other arm rests a simple sweat band, bought from BIG 5 Sporting Goods.
Wig: This wig is a cheapy wig that was bought at the swapmeet, then left in storage that I decided to put to use and cut about seven inches off of it, and combed the curls out so that it looked ''crazy''.
Mask: The mask is made with two old brown leather belts that I cut and sewed in a pattern similar to MANKIND's mask by using a single hole puncher to make holes into the tough leather that I then stuck a needle through to stich the pieces together. It was reinforced with clear tacky glue.
.....I still need to add the bottom strap and buckle to the back side of the mask so I will be making a trip to the thrift store to find a brown belt. I will also be searching for a black tathered neck tie to include with the costume. Oh! And I also need to buy some white shoes that I can scuff up....only then will this costume be complete :-P .
NOTE: I might end up selling this costume via Ebay once it is completed >3> .
The other images: McFoley and bottom right hand sock puppet pic, are copywrite to google images and are the property of the orignal owners whom they originated from. Mankind, Mr. Socko and the WWF logo are registered trademarks to the World Wrestling Federation of America. I claim no rights to any of these images and/or titles. This is simply a "fan-made" costume.
