Evidence that I haven't completely vanished! I was commissioned to make a tail for someone a while back, and I finally had time to finish it.
The commissioned one is the yellow brass one. The client wanted it to be rather short, so it measures 23 inches from tip to top.
Shown above it is my personal tail I have lying around currently, which is black anodized aluminum. It also has a bunch of lobster clips down the spine, which I can attach things to. At parties it's really fun to put glow sticks all the way down the tail.
Both tails have standard aluminum underbellies.

A standard tail costs $200, more expensive materials push the price up a little bit. The standard price is good for steel or anodized aluminum. If you want to check out the little guide I've put together for ordering tails, here it is: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2538156/ It's also got links to photos of (I think) all the tails I've made.
