Drawing a fursuiter next to what's supposed to be an actual anthro is tricky. But I think I nicely captured the vacancy and overall ridiculous look that is a fursuit.

It would have been better if for this one time, your skunk was a human.
Also you forgot a few details on the suit; Con badges (because every "suiter" has 20 of them stapled to the thing so you know who they are), shorts to hide it's shame of being used for sexual deviance, A collar (because every animal wears one duh), the stupidly obscenely large hand-paw things (because not being able to use your hands while they are tucked into a baseball mitt like object is cute and fun), various stains from being used at all/too much, and the persons "spirit plushie" that they carry everywhere and must show of and "cuddle" to look "cute" at the drop of a hat or in fur-suiter cases' the instant a camera show up.

Sure it may be a tad ironic that it is an anthropomorph addressing the issue at hand, however it is TableofCynicism's trademark and I'm sure that had he opted to use a human, we'd be bitching that he didn't use the skunk. He likely didn't include the vest of badges as they would have distracted from the rest of the strip. To borrow the old adage, sometimes less is more.
Avery is kind of like Dogbert or Brian Griffin in that we just accept it for what it is. And perhaps I'd have done the other things with the fursuit if I actually had him at a con but in this case, I'm trying to pass him off as a guy who also does it while alone at home, or without many people around.
Meh, I don't really mind them. It's just similar to Trekkies who dressed up as "Star Trek" characters in sci-fi conventions. It's nothing more than just a homage of sorts to their hobbies/interests. Being obsessed with that type of stuff on the other hand is annoying.....just like taking any other hobbie/interest too far.
At the risk of being a dick, this comic is a bit of a "strawman," but than again, there are people like that. Oh well.

You've risked being a dick before and nothing too harrowing came of it. Though I'd like to point out that in a group of furry haters it might be a "strawman" but in the fandom itself, it almost never occurs to anyone to at least publicly make fun of fursuits or suiters for fear of the hatred spewed upon them, so it's not necessarily a widely accepted argument in the case of my target audience.

To be fair, I wasn't very serious about it previously. But that's nice to know. lol
I've mentioned the term "Strawman" because I doubt that every person who likes "fursuiting" are THAT obssesed with it at an unhealthy level. A person who fursuits as special occasions but otherwise have pretty "normal lives" is not that bad.
As far as fursuiters go, I don't see how they're stereotyped as not having any real friends or "a life" as many of the fursuiters here seem to have alot of friends and admirers.
But then again, you did mentioned the term "real friends"....and I do questioned some of the so-called "friendships" I see in this site.

Well, there's nothing wrong with having good ideals about friendship. But the problem is that most people don't even know what real friendships are. They would consider each other "friends" due to similar, sometimes superficial tastes; But deep down inside, most of them don't really care about each other. They would sooner betray each other for some selfish, personal gain than really respect each other as friends. I've seen it happened to many people in this site....and in real life, sadly.
I always feel awkward when someone I have known in passing tells other people that they are friends with me. I'm never sure in those uncomfortable moments whether I should play along with it or say "more like acquaintances" as I typically do. Whenever I do the latter they get all pissed off. It isn't that I am opposed to the idea of being friends with someone, I just tend to arrange my friends in a hierarchy accounting for time we've known each other, their trustworthiness, general amiability, and a few other relevant factors. When someone who only knows my name and met me a couple of days ago claims to be my friend, I am a bit put off at their presumptuousness. I'd be find if they just asked if we could be friends.
It's really unfortunate how much today's youth have devalued the term friend into its present ambiguous state.

Whenever someone calls me their "friend" and I barely know them; Yet they're nice, than I would be somewhat more accepting(Thought I wouldn't completely reciprocitate their feelings). Otherwise, if they're a complete jackass, than I would just called them an associate. I can say that in my entire life, I only had five friends. Yet, all of them care about me to a great extent. I would rather have those five than a hundred "friends" who couldn't care less about me. It may sounds corny but it's true.
On the other hand, I hate people who constantly change their "friendship status" with me. I knew one person who called me "one of his best friends." Yet, sometime later he said that I'm not his "friend" but just "someone he knows" capriciously and without warning. Due to the inconsistency, he ended up not being a "True friend of mine"
I also hate when I would be nice to certain people, they would be that cynical to think that I'm creepy; As if there's not anyone who is genuinely nice. Shame.

Well I didn't say it was true for every single one of them, although fursuits are either a fetish or a means to garner attention to make up for the ways one's personality never could.
Of course, you'll agree with all popular aspects of the furry fandom because you're a totally unique and interesting person.

Vivian is female, and she's one of those young furries who thinks that the whole fandom is pretty much perfect. It's an unfortunate side effect to being a 14 or 15 year old girl, at that age your personality is just borrowed from a few acquaintances. I think the best example of that would be oh, look, now Vivian's a "brony" too (shouldn't a brony have to be a guy, though?). You know, one of those people who gives you hell about being judgmental and making generalizations, but then so willingly adheres to each and every one of them.
Anyway, over all else, I just thought I'd see if I could make her unwatch me, again. We have a little game spanning the last few months where she watches me, then unwatches me, then watches me again when she sees me leave a funny comment to someone on the front page (we have a funny way of showing up on the same submissions) then she unwatches me when I say something she disagrees with, then she watches me, unwatches me...it's romantic in its way.

Gender has everything to do with all things. I mean, both sexes are idiots when they're teenagers, but in distinguishable ways. Girls are "I'm a fun and interesting person and now that I'm a teenager I am SO in tune with how the world works (that part gets worse when girls reach their twenties) and I have my own style that just happens to copy everything else but I'm DEFINITELY the one person who does it organically." Where as boys on the other hand are more like "Ha ha, boobs."
So in short, teenaged girls are idiots because they think they're not, and teenaged boys are idiots because they know they are but don't care.
