Note to commissioned artists, or those considering gifts or requests (If I'm lucky!) -
I understand that some artists can be put off by complex, colourful markings, either through personal preference of because they dislike the pressure of getting every little detail correctly placed. With Pickle, this need not be an issue. The great thing about Pickle is that she is always changing her appearance. That means that markings and accessories can be removed, added or replaced, depending on the artist's style and preferences. I would ask that a chosen selection of the markings remain intact in order to define the character, but aside from that, I encourage variation. If you don't like the wings, don't include them. If you usually work with earthy, gritty palettes, then the rainbow colouration can appear washed out/pale/dirty. If you want to draw her wearing clothing - awesome! I only ask that it is inkeeping with Fairy Kei or Decora fashion. At the end of the day, what's most important for me is capturing the character's lemury appearance and mannerisms, and eccentric personality. Thanks for reading!
