A long way down. I've considered putting a incinerator next to it so I can incinerate the waste first, and just dump the ashes down so I don't have to worry about the build up of gasses.
It's just a pit though. Paid a bunch of people to drill a giant pit that goes down as far as they could safely while they were making the basement. Just some dirt and stone...

Hrmmm. Well I could increase the amount of rations if I squeezed them into some of the open spaces... Maybe two or three, and I'd keep them in an isolation room for at least a week to make sure they don't show any signs of infection, incinerating or sanitizing anything that had previously on the outside.
