Ironically, if I couldn't sleep (when I had my tools), I'd be making the chainmail... while the origami I'd have to do in the day.

is that chainmail a 4 in 1 or a 8 in 1

it's a 6 into 1 weave. I find it makes for a much tighter and sleeker look than 4-1 but is more flexible and less bulky than 8-1.

Insomia strikes again... I get that waaaaaaaaaaaaay too damn much actually (insomnia I mean), despite being a tigeress... >.< I go on sleep deprivation and I start getting seriously loopy, but then I get really oddly creative too... O.o Some of my strangest drawings happen that way.

traditional 4-on-1 butted chain. Very meditative I always thought.

trying to braise the little buggers afterwords annoyed the crap outta me, cause I'm too lazy to try and rivet them together.

I saw someplace a 3-on-1 pattern a couple days ago. was a bit odd I thought.

It's actually 6-in-1 patter; like 4-in-1 but a fair bit tighter :)

really? so hard to tell with them packed in as tight as they are

what gauge wire are you using, and what diameter are you winding them to? or are you buying them as 'ready-made-rings'? if so what size and gauge?

off hand i've got no idea what gauge they are, I found a load of thick wire YEARS ago and turned it into a big box of open steel rings with some garden dowel I had laying around at the time; it was so long ago i've got no idea anymore XD
