I found this guy looking all dazed in the middle of one of the main roads to my university campus located in rural Camden. It pretty late at night so I was able to stop my car in the middle of the road and get out to give him a quick look over. There were feathers surrounding him and he couldnt fly so I assumed he had been hit by a car. I took him back with me to my dorm and he ended up spending the night in my room in a box with blankets covered over with a towel. The next morning I took him into the wildlife hospital for the vets to check him out. He had some ruptured air sacs and a suspected coracoid fracture most likely due to being struck by a car. He has been sent to a wildlife carer and is expected to make a full recovery and will be released when he is healed :)
The Avian, Reptile and Exotic Pet Hospital sees a variety animals from small mammals such as rabbits, rodents and ferrets, to birds and reptiles! Due to the fact that many of the patients we see are wild and thus have no funds coming in towards the cost of specialised care and medication, the hospital is struggling to stay afloat :( Any small donation would be much appreciated (and I may even draw you a small picture as a show of gratitude!). Donations can be made through my paypal: jvuk0156[at]usyd.edu.au
