Corel vs what? Sai im assuming

no, unfortunately I don't have SAI since I have a mac. I use Photoshop CS5

Ive thought about trying corel (since it came free with my tablet anyway) but im always intimidated by new art programs. And so far there is nothing special that i lack that i cant acheive using sai, or under very special circumstances, GIMP

To be honest, Corel is VERY intimidating in my opinion, especially the first time you use it. There are so many blending options and brush options that i feel it would take forever to learn it all. I tried video tutorials and drew along with the tutorials, but the lessons only stuck in my head for that one day.

I really think using Corel though would be good for lineart purposes, though. the pen options are fantastic. I wish I had SAI--I see a lot of people creating amazing things with it!

Oh the joys of having a PC

It is truly a wonderful program, the stabilizer helps make AMAZINGLY smooth lines.
I find unless a person is making crazy detailed digital paintings, there isnt much sai cant do, and its very very easy to learn.


also the simplicity of being able to freely rotate your canvas is supreme. Gives it a very traditional feel

thank you, that's good to know! I'm VERY critical about how I draw faces (and my anatomy, but I am really trying to work on that). It really makes me happy when people point out things that I feel I'm terrible at! <3

- Those big, flirty eyelashes and sultry eyes.
- The impish, expressive eyebrows.
- Luscious, pouty lower lips.
- High, curvy cheekbones.
