So there's this particular anime I'm rather fond of at the moment that some folks may or may not have heard of, at least not yet (it did recently get licensed for US distribution). It goes by the full name Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann, but can be summed up in four words: Epic Manly Drill Mecha.
...which of *course* translates to "Kompy wants to do fanart of her and her alt fursona Tanuki dressed up as Kamina and Simon (respectively), the main leads* of this show". Kamina doesn't wear the body wrappings so high up his chest, but for some bizarre reason I wanted to keep Kompy modest, despite not...really having anything. Also bizarre is my sad attempt at imitating the artstyle - or at least the artstyle of the eye-catch pics, as the anime proper isn't this weird with its shadows.
Oh, and Ricochet there is emulating Boota, this adorable little mole-like critter Simon carries with him everywhere.
*To those in the know...this was originally drawn before I saw episode 8, and completed sometime after. I'd say more about it except, if you haven't guessed, it's something of a spoiler. Also, no Yoko 'cuz I didn't feel like drawing her, even though I do like her.

I totally love this style, well done! (reminds me of an old animation called Sexy Commando lol)

Holy shit this is awesome, I haven't seen much fan-art of Gurren Laggan myself. I loved it dearly because of Kamina's manly penchant for romantic drama and the like. I was really rather surprised what happened to him so early on in the series. i can't say i was too fond of the "second" part of the series after episode 15. It just kinda turned into something like Gundam Seed.
It was just the general style that they showed in the second part, like their clothes and attitude. The first 15 episodes were just much more upbeat and that's really what I liked about it. It's definately Gainax's best series since FLCL. Theres even a gurren laggan humour community on LJ now.
