Today I lost one of my best friends.
Ichabod. He'd spent his entire life battling respiratory infections and myco flares, and in the end, it claimed him. He was only about a year old, and his brother died from the same thing. They were from the same place, and this is why I stress to people to make sure you know where your rats come from-- or at least know they're semi-healthy.

Ichabod was my first ever rat. He started it all-- he made rats my very most favorite animal, and I'm forever in his debt for that. This is a picture from the day we bought him and brought him home.
