Right, so I finally got around to recording this with a piano, and it sounds like crap. >_< But I'd said I'd do it eventually, so unless I find a better way to record, or a better mic, this will have to work.

Deep in the back of my mind,
is a time,
when I pined,
for what seemed to be gone.
And I watched it all go up in flames.
It's the same,
when you try,
to move on.
You can't have what you dream,
so it seems.
You can reach out,
but never can touch.
And even if it's the smallest amount,
it still counts,
and it hurts,
way too much.
And some people you see,
you beleive,
would be perfect,
to have them yourself.
But then all of your fears,
become clear,
and you find,
they're for somebody else.
And everyone wants a home,
of their own,
while the homeless,
can feel it's a curse.
And even those of us longing for love,
hold the glove,
that will fit,
someone worse.
So to say that you're free,
don't you see,
is to say,
that you're really unsure.
Unsure of the things that you are,
and so far,
you don't know,
what you were.
In the silence of night,
it's alright.
I can sit,
and remember the past.
There was a time when somebody cared,
and was there,
but it's all,
fading fast.
Bark.

Hey I don't usually critique music files on FA but I stumbled on your song by chance and I was really taken back. I really... legitimately like it. It's not perfect but the idea is fantastic...the lyrics are good and the flow is excellent. When I was listening to the recording I was thinking how cool it would sound put to a gospel choir (in the style of an elton john song) with maybe some guitar. Anyway just my two cents. I was really impressed with it and I think you should improve upon the recording by buying a proper piano mic and a noise canceling vocal mic. You definantely have something here... for now it's going on my iPod.

As much as silence is sometimes said to be the best means of examining a work, I personally find responses such as yours most helpful. ^^ It lets me figure out what others think of what I've done, and thereafter I can better shape my works to continue to entertain at a better level, rather than remaining at a constant plain of the same.
All the same... yes, perfection is something I'd like to have, but with the equipment I'm using, such is a distant goal. >_< I do quite enjoy Elton John's music, so I would have to agree with your interest in that styling of the music... the only thing I could do would be to add a bit of guitar. I'm hardly capable of commanding a choir. *Snickerwoofs* Regardless, if I could ever afford the proper... stuff... I'd certainly make use of it for such ventures. Thank you kindly for your insight, sir. ^^ *Wags his tail a bit*

Heh I actually woke up this morning with that song stuck in my head. I most sincerely encourage you to "finish" this as it were. It's such a beautiful and well written song. I think if you added filler (more instrumentals) you would have something very noteworthy.
On a side note, have you ever been contacted by a record label? If you wanted to go down that route I could certainly see you getting picked up. I played for a record label for a bit and it's a lot of work but it may be somehting for your consideration.

Now that's amusing to me... *Muses* ...as I've never woken up with any of my own songs in my head. >_< Perhaps because they're popping in and out for the rest of the day. *Flicks an ear* Filler, filler... Mmmm, easily said, and easily done. One simply needs the time, amongst other things, to do so. >_< Bugger time- they ought make more of it. *Nods once*
And in reply to your query... No, I have never been even remotely contacted nor considered (to be best of my knowledge) by any such organization. That is not to say I would ever decline such were the offer made. ^^ But seeing as it hasn't been... *Winks* All the same, I'm sure there's quite a bit of work involved... but I'd be much more willing to work towards something I enjoyed doing, in the end, than working a standard 9-5 bore-fest. *Chuckles softly*

This is gorgeous *hugs and licks* very emotive, but it carries an energy with it, as with the rest of your works :3
Recording a piano can be the hardest thing to actually mic, I used to use two ambient mic's for roundness of tone. The music speaks for itself though, very nice indeed *pets*
