I haaaaaate drawing perspective and architecture. I'm pretty sure perspective drawing uses the math portion of your brain, which for me...is borked. So instead of doing traditional perspective drawing (ya know, with the lines and the vanishing points...blah blah blah) I just winged it like I do when I'm drawing humans or animals...measure and crawl.
Anyway, I drew this from life while sitting in the Chicago Field Museum of Natural History. That bear is actually a North-Pacific totem from the Native America's exhibit that I decided to make even bigger than it already is and place it outside of the Corner Bakery Cafe that's in the museum main hall. :P (I just really wanted to draw that bear...he's my favorite.)
It was rather annoying doing this sketch though...people kept sitting at that table in front of me in hopes that I would be forced to draw them into the picture. >:I
Also, it scanned like shit. =\ I would rescan it, but the paper is 18x24 and won't fit in my personal scanner.
