I recently got The Armed Man, a group of pieces of music by Karl Jenkins, subtitled A Mass for Peace. Each of the songs features some kind of lyrics, in english or not, for peace. The songs and themes are inspiring for me.
Apollo was a soldier before he became his hippy feather-in-horn type. He fought in futuristic conflicts against invaders to his home planet.
So, a quick speedpainting for tonight. I was going to go for black armour, but I was attracted to green. Not inspired by the Halo uniforms or anything. Infact the armour and weapon are just a mush of ideas. No clear design or anything. Just attacking a digital canvas with my pent up energy. Apollo also has a chunky BlackWing look about him. I wanted to add some movement, but it didn't come to me. Hey ho. Hoorah for blood.
Better is peace than always war
And better is peace than ever more war.

I did not know that unicorns could be aggressive. XD
I think you did a pretty good job on capturing the "war time" mood and his serious expression only continues that feel. The wound is a nice touch too. The stylistic painting reminds me of mark making, which turned out really nice. I've never seen that technique with color before.
