“What do you mean we need cannons?”
“Look kid no self respecting ship on these seas would sail without having at least ONE cannon.”
“Well my powers kinda make that hard. After they got done any gunpowder would probably blow the cannon to pieces.”
“Still say you need cannons kid. We just have to get creative.”
Petie rolled his eyes at Breda’s comment and kicked his feet a little, still sitting on a crate as he watched them work. The shipwrights were disassembling the Sea Cradle with an almost surgical speed and effectiveness… which was a little hard to watch since it was HIS boat, but they’d promised they’d make use of most of the pieces to build the bigger Sea Cradle. Maybe Sea Cradle the second? Did he need to rename the boat since it’d be mostly new? He’d have to figure that out… but he had time. It’d be at least a week before they’d finish.
He sighed and halfhearted looked around. Anne had left to go check-up on Jules and he was pretty bored without her to talk to. Even if the shipwrights asked him questions about what he wanted for the new boat occasionally. He heard the soft thud of a boat bumping against the pier… which creaked like it was going to collapse. He saw a boat about Sea Cradles size, though reinforced and weighted to make it steadier in the water, being moored by a mightyena… guy? It was kinda hard to tell. The only unusual thing about the ship was the black chains all over used as decorations and a pirate flag with a halo of chain around the skulls head.
Noticing his confusion Babyface spoke up “People still come here from time to time you know. Either to get their ship fixed or to get drunk in the bar… but at best it’s about one or two people a week.” He walked over next to Petie and watched the mightyena head into town “Yep, definitely going to the bar. Whoever it is will probably be back sloshed in a few hours and try to sail off… really funny to watch actually.” He let out a short laugh as Petie chuckled at the mental image.

“ARCEUS DAMN IT NOT AGAIN!!” Babyface cussed as he was suddenly wearing a tiny t shirt and a huge diaper. Petie blushed “Sorry… I told you I can’t control my powers!” he said sheepishly as Babyface puffed his cheeks out and stamped his foot in a mini tantrum. Breda could barely hold her laughter back “That makes… what? Five time so far? Guess the baby powers just like you baby brother!” she finished before cracking up as the linoone whined and stomped his feet more before waddling off to change as Petie called after him with apologies.

“How much further is she?”
“I told you she was on the edge of town.”
“I feel silly walking around like this…”
“D’aaaaaaaw but my baby sister has such an adorably awkward waddle!”
“… not your baby sister…”
“Funny, you LOOK like her… anyway we’re here.”
“… really?”
Jules honestly wasn’t sure what to make of the place. Battered badly patched walls, shingles missing, a worn curtain in place of the door… it looked more beaten up than the abandoned houses. His nose was suddenly assaulted with the smell of booze so powerful it was almost a mist. Since his father owned a bar he’d been use to the smell of drink but it was so strong here it was making him tipsy. Beret was also holding her nose with her free paw “Yeah… she’s home… come on, lets make this quick.” She stopped a few feet from the front door and took a deep breath “HEY! DRUNKARD!!!”
“… hello Beret. I see you’ve brought a friend.”
Jules’s ear twitched at that. He’d envisioned retired sword masters as being old and venerable… but the voice couldn’t be any older than late twenties and while a little course it sounded like a pretty lady… though her tone was so lifeless it’d probably make ghost types shudder. Also how’d she know he was with Beret? Jules opened his mouth to call out but the voice cut him off again “Yes I do know your there kid, no I’m not going to tell you how I know. Go away.” Again the voice was dull and impassive and was followed by the sound of somebody taking a long drink from a bottle.
“You heard her, lets get going.” Beret said, more than happy to take the voices advice. Jules instead pulled free of Beret’s grasp and waddled towards the door. The little girl shoes and thick diaper made it harder than normal to keep his balance but he managed to make it to the door without falling down and poked his head past the curtain. The smell of alcohol nearly knocked him right back out the way he came it was so strong. Shaking his head to clear it and praying he wouldn’t end up getting drunk off the fumes Jules looked around.
The room was almost totally bare with no furniture and no carpet. A huge number of presumably empty alcohol bottles were scattered haphazardly. He looked around for a moment before he finally saw her leaning against a doorway. She was a jynx, which was surprising since they weren’t that common, and she was wearing a worn patched set of clothes that Jules recognized from one of Momma’s books as traditional wear from Wano Country. Her bright blond hair was long and fell haphazardly over her face and despite her slouched posture Jules could tell she had a beautiful figure. At her side was a long kantanna with a handle rapped in an almost flaming red cloth and in her hand was a half-filled bottle of rum. She looked at the riolu with an empty and dispassionate expression.
“Um… hello?”
“Hello. Now leave.”
“But…”
“You want me to teach you. I won’t. Leave.”
“How the heck do you know these things!?”
“I’m not telling.”
Puffing out his cheeks in annoyance Jules climbed into the house, his little shoes tapping softly as he waddled across the wooden floor and tried not to trip over the booze bottles. Finally standing in front of her on his shaky legs he put his hands on his hips and declared “I’m not going anywhere until you tell me what’s going on!!” completely unaware how silly his current outfit made this statement. Her disinterested expression didn’t change as she took another swig of rum and stared at him for a moment. Jules fidgeted nervously as the moment of silence stretched into a minute… then two… finally after five minutes of silence she spoke.
“… you’re really not gonna leave huh?”
“Nope!”
“Fine. My names June. I was born in Wano Country to a retired swordsmen who possessed two master grade swords, Usna Naraka and Zizira Naraka. As a foolish child I sought to be a swords master but being a girl it was not allowed. So I stole my father’s blades and fled the country. Over my travels I learned much in the ways of the sword and thought myself strong… but I was defeated in front of a huge audience and one of my precious swords was destroyed. In disgrace I retired here where I can leisurely rot and drink.”
“……”
“By the look on your face you wonder why I can say that so calmly, right?”
“Yeah!”
“Because I no longer care.”
“Huh?”
“Child, I fought that duel when I was twenty… I am currently twenty eight… those past eight years I have been here with only my remaining sword and the drink to keep me company. I have reached a state where I find myself incapable of caring about much more past running out of booze. I suppose some might say I’ve reached a state of enlightenment but if this is what is needed to reach it then I can’t say much for it.”
“…. Enlightenment?”
“How did I know you were out there without looking? How did I know what questions you would ask? How did I know that you would stand there till the sun set and be an annoyance if I did not answer your question? Tell me boy, are you familiar with the term Haki?”
“I think I heard it before… and you can tell I’m”
“Yes I can tell you’re a boy. I won’t bore you with the details but I am adept at “Color of Observation” Haki which usual allows the wielder to sense opponents and predict their moves a few seconds into the future… but after not caring for so long the world seems to flow around me as if I’m not here and my sense and haki have expanded…”
“… what do you mean?”
“I am aware of everything around me to an absurd degree. I know there are 27 empty bottles on the floor and 6 full ones and I know exactly where the full ones are. I know Beret is waiting by the door in case something goes wrong and she is painting rude comments on my walls. I know you’ve needed a dry diaper for the past three minutes.”
“…!!!”
“I believe my point has been made.”
“… so you were a good swordswoman?”
“Yes. I was trained in several styles and created my own.
“Then…”
“No I will not train you. Leave.”
“Please?”
“No.”
“Pleeeeeeease?”
“No.”
“Pretty Please?”
“No.”
“Pretty please with a cherry on top?”
“No.”
“Super duper pretty please?”
“… you aren’t going to go away are you?”
“Nope!”
“Still no.”
******************
“Pardon me but have you seen Jules around here? He’s my riolu friend and”
“I told you kid, we don’t serve minors. Get out.”
“But…”
“Shoo! I’m trying to clean here!”
“O-oh!”
“Out!”
Anne whimpered as she was shooed out of the bar at broom point by Arturo. She stumbled and ended up running into somebody. "Watch it, you-..." The somebody was a mightyena, in his early twenties. Unlike usual yenas, he had bright blue eyes that looked down to her in confusion. “O-oh! I-I’m s-s-sorry!” she squeaked timidly as she stumbled backwards a little before regaining her balance and bowing her head in apology. There was a brief red "wave" in his eyes as he folded his arms. "What's a small kid doing alone in a place like this? You certainly aren't a local..."
Anne noticed the red wave but was too nervous to say anything about it as she stuttered “M-my c-crew… o-our ship i-is being r-repaired… w-we’re s-stuck h-here…” she still wasn’t good at social interaction with strangers and the dark type intimidated her badly. "Your crew?" he asked, looking at her with confusion again. Anne nodded timidly “U-uh huh. I’m t-the d-doctor f-for a crew of b-bounty hunters…” she stuttered, too nervous to do anything other than tell the truth as she shifted nervously on her feet.
"A doctor, hm?" He scrathed his chin as the red wave washed over his eyes again. He kneeled down to her level. "How much exactly do you know about treating people?" Anne trembled a little with nervousness and her voice squeaked as she answered “M-my parents t-taught me b-basic first a-aid… and I-I’ve read s-some books a-about d-diseases and i-injuries as w-well as h-how to t-treat them…” He tilted his head slightly as a narrow smile rose to his face. "Cut wounds, broken bones, that kind of things, right?" She blinked and nodded, a little of her nervousness leaving.
"And you said you belonged to a bounty hunter crew? In that case, you'll come across a number of circumstances you should be aware of..."
“… p-pardon me s-sir… I don’t m-mean t-to be rude b-but… h-how w-would you know t-this?” His smile broadened a little. "From experience. I'm a bounty hunter myself." That caught her off guard as her eyes widened “R-really?” she asked, obviously not having expected to meet another bounty hunter in this little town. He nodded and leaned forward. "And as a doctor, your job is very important. It would be a shame for younger generations to not reach their fullest potential, I can share with you what I know." Her eyes lit up at that as she finally smiled “R-really? Oh t-thank you sir! I w-would love to l-learn everything you can t-teach me!” she blinked and paused for a moment, blushing softly “Um… I-I’m sorry, I f-forgot to introduce m-myself… I’m Anne.” She gives a small curtsey that’s both polite and adorable “It’s a p-pleasure to m-meet you.”
"Matthew. Just call me "Shackles", I've gotten more used to it."
“U-um… okay t-then… Shackles. I-it’s a p-pleasure to meet y-you and t-thank you a-again.”
"Don't mention it", he smiled and looked to the bar. "First, shall we get to somewhere more comfortable? That and I'm getting thirsty." Anne hung her head at that and whimpered “B-but… they s-said they d-don’t serve minors in t-there and r-ran me o-out.” He stood up, fiddling with a heavy looking pouch. "I'm pretty sure I can buy you a seat..." Anne blushed at that, obviously embarrassed and grateful he was willing to do that for somebody he’d just met, as she hung her head “T-thank you…”
"Like I said, don't mention it. Now, let's go find some seats."
“O-okay.”

“Please?”
“No.”
“Please?”
“No.”
“Please please please!!”
“No no NO.”
“Pleeeeeeeeease!!!”
“… if I agree will you promise to leave in in peace to drink when I’m not teaching you?”
“Of course!!”
“Then fine.”
“Yaaaaay!!!”
Sighing and taking another gulp of rum June got up from where she was leaning against the door, a slight drunken sway in her step, and started lightly kicking the empty bottles to the sides to clear as space. “I’m guessing that… rattle is your sword?” she asked, raising a slight eyebrow as Jules blushed and nodded “Very well then. I’ve seen stranger admittedly. Show me what you can do.” She said, still in that bored tone, as Jules grinned and gripped his rattle. Three swings later he’d managed to throw himself off balance and land on his butt as June just raised an eyebrow.
“Well I can see balance is something we’ll need to work on.” She said as Jules blushed and struggled to his feet “Not to mention you might as well just be a real baby considering all you’re doing is swinging wildly.” She added making Jules glared at her “Well I could balance better if it wasn’t for these stupid shoes…” he whined before squeaking as June poked his nose with the tip of her sheathed sword “Then keep them on. If you learn to be able to balance with them on then you’re balance without them should inprove.” She said as Jules blushed in embarrassment. Seeing this a thin smirk appeared on her face.
“In fact keep the whole outfit on. BERET!”
“Yeah drunkard?”
“Make sure the kid is dressed like this every time he comes to train.”
“Deal!”
“B-b-b-but WHY!? How can me dressing like this help me be a better swordsman!?”
“It won’t… it’s just revenge for annoying me with your begging.”
“… meanie…”
“That’s sensei to you. Now lets start with the basics…”
***************
“Come on… come on… GOT YA!!”
Grinning Chouji slipped the goldeen into his net with the others. Keeping a tight grip on the net with all the struggling fish in it was difficult… but the thought of the fish fry he would have when he got back to shore was more than enough motivation. “There… that should be just about enough for one dinner…” he said as he absentmindedly tried to count the number of fish he’d caught. Just then the biggest krabby he’d ever seen swam past him and caught his attention. Grinning Chouji immediately started to follow it, slowly of course to keep from spooking it and making the catch harder.
“And some grilled krabby for dessert… hey! Get back here!!”
The crustacean had swum down into a dark underwater cave near the bottom of the bay and vanished from sight. Chouji followed into the darkness and only when he couldn’t see anything did he think “That might have been a bad idea” Still he was going to find that krabby one way or another as he fumbled around the cave blind for a moment. He was starting to notice the weird current here. It pulled in and out in a steady rhythm like there was something huge in here breathing…
He was suddenly very grateful for the diaper he was wearing as his eyes adjusted to the darkness and he found himself near nose to nose with a very, very annoyed looking Gyarados. There was a stiff moment of silence between the two as they simply stared at each other the Gyarados’s flame red eyes into Chouji’s pink ones. Then it opened its mouth and roared and Chouji responded with a scream less fitting a future master of fishman karate and more suited for a little girl.
********************
Back at the shipyard Petie tumbled off his crate as he heard the scream and Breda looked up and chuckled “Looks like your friend met Old Mike.” She commented as Petie pulled himself back up to his feet and looked at her “Old Mike…?” he asked as Babyface looked out to the bay a little concerned “You think he’d be okay Breda? That Gyarados is known to have a nasty temper when provoked…” Petie’s eyes bulged out of his head at that comment “GYARADOS!?” before he could ask more a high pitch scream was heard as Chouji swam past them at insane speeds, net of fish still clutched in his hand, followed closely by a roar as the gyarados chased after him. They watched the two vanish out of sigh around the island in silence before Breda spoke up.
“I think he’ll be fine… didn’t think somebody that fat could swim that fast… cept for you of course babyface.”
“Heeeeeey!!!”

“Of for Arceus’s sake NOT AGAIN!!”
“Sorry…”
“I’ll just do the stupid work in a diaper!”

“B-b-b-but WHY!? How can me dressing like this help me be a better swordsman!?”
“It won’t… it’s just revenge for annoying me with your begging.”
“… meanie…”
“That’s sensei to you. Now lets start with the basics…”

POOF
“Of for Arceus’s sake NOT AGAIN!!”
“Sorry…”
“I’ll just do the stupid work in a diaper!”

Like we said before and we say again Jules just can not get a break June seems to have some pleasure from Jules's discomfort. Shackles seems nice if he is taking care of Anne. That what Chouji gets for being a half cannibal getting a gyarados chasing him all around the island
Beret you forgot to put a tiara on Jules's head *throws a pink one to beret* Now if only we can get the same outfit for Beret in her own size.. Hmm. =^w^= mew?
