So yes, apparently I do non-smut as well.
This story is more or less some backstory for my two main characters - Micah and Ki'Taye. Yes, they are brother and sister, and yes, there is more to it than that.
But that's a different story for a different time. :3

"He rather enjoyed the bathrobe I got for him, seeing as I stole his old one, and ~spend~ the rest of the morning in it." - I think that should be spent ^^;
"It was around the fourth showing of ~It’s A Wonderful Life~ when he interrupted it." - The first time you mentioned that, it was in quotations. The second time, it was without them. It might if they were both either in quotes, or outside them.
Other than that..This was awesome. The unfortunate events of their early home life were well explained, and you could really feel sympathy for both of them. It was such a sweet story, though; A sister and brother pulling together to get through life and all its obstacles together like that, it really is heartwarming. The teddy bear from her childhood was a really nice touch as well. You incorporated the reader's emotions in with the characters' really well.
There's quality in this writing, and the story moved on at a nice pace. I enjoyed reading this, and look forward to browsing your gallery/your upcoming pieces ^^ Nice work!
