My first attempt with the new paints & washes that GW has provided this year. Bit of a new learning curve especially for one who has been painting as long as I have, but very interesting and fun to get into.
And what better way than testing it all out on a model I had lying around collecting dust? Really like the Sslyth who act as bodyguards for the Dark Eldar Lords and probably one of the few loyal creatures to be found in that dark & foreboding fortress of theirs. Though the original model had 4 arms that I took 2 of them off since it looked far to bulky for an otherwise very sleek design.

I was a bit skeptical at first but they are surprisingly very easy to work with, you don't need to mix so much anymore now that you can buy several different shades and highlights of the same base color.
That way you can paint faster and it's easier to remain consistent when making units that wear the same color.
New inks and washes are fantastic, they work so much better than the old stuff. The only down side of the paints are they they are a bit thinner thus coating might take a few layers but then again they dry quicker so little time is lost.
All in all well worth the investment but yeah I agree it's no loss to have a look into them after your old stock has run out.
