this is, oh man. phenomenal doesn't even begin to describe it. LARGE. the definition of.
not only did you nail the poster homage (with something faithfully unique, instead of the millionth Attack Of The Fifty Foot Woman parody) but you've also done justice to these characters in ways I hadn't expected. YOU RULE, in other words.
Emma Jean hadn't been drawn at all before (afaik) and now I am going to point at this and say to
zuckerdachs "MORE PLZ" in my most plaintive of warbles. She is a delightful character and it's great to see her introduced so effectively. Rey meanwhile has been drawn a half dozen times a half dozen different ways, because I could never decide on a design (or species), and here you've gone and drawn him so distinctively that I'll probably point to it for primary reference in the future. His Hulk hair, his barrel-chested build, his untameable fluff, and his delight in destruction; all entirely appropriate. DATESTRUCTION. you should totally do more of these.
I appreciate the little details too, including the suspiciously rounded holes in the backdrop buildings, and that fucking perfect tagline. also, the billing "JAGUAR REY" has made me consider for the first time what this beast's surname should actually be. I have decided that it is definitely "the mountainous", or properly, "LAMONTAGNE". wait

It's really the kitschy 'sales pitch' style introduction to the movie that sells this one! The art's clean and the characters are beautifully realised, but it's the whole package which makes it stand out as more than just another rip-off and instead a loving homage to the style of the time.
Also, giants. I'm on board.
