Orisis or Wesir is the God of Death. Anubis aka Yinepu didn't cause death. Also The Mummy series took the God of Peace who was Imhotep, and portrayed him as the epitome of evil. American entertainment generally is so far off from the actual religion, that the people who still follow that religion are often sickened by it...
