I put this under emotive portraits because I found the best way to draw out emotions in my artwork is just to take a picture of of my self. Don't hide, don't be ashamed, act casual or act crazy, bring out the best points in your personality and apply that to your artwork. This has nothing to do with self esteem If you're struggling to draw an expression a certain way, take a quick snap shot of your self and upload it, then there you go =). I know that DA has a lot of resources for this kind of thing, but for me personally it's just most helpful if I turn it into something more personal =).
