In 2011, Hamburg School in Hamburg, NY had an epidemic on their hands in the Middle and High Schools. There was a rise in violence against anyone wearing animal ears and tails claiming to be “furries”. These kids got their ears and tails ripped off on an almost daily basis and beat up by kids that didn’t understand them. Eventually, these violent acts lead to the district banning any kind of costume all together, even on Halloween.
To pay homage to these kids, I decided to do an illustration and photo-manipulation piece depicting two high schoolers fighting: one furry kid, and one “bully.” The piece is supposed to bring this senseless violence to light.
All illustrations were hand drawn and colored by me. The photo of the chain link fence I used for the background was found on a Google search and later manipulated. (Unfortunately, the website that the photo from was taken down for suspicions of malware, so I don’t have the original source anymore.)

Ehh that figures. Hints why when I was in high school (from 1995 to 1998) I first of all was unaware there were such a thing of furries even though I drew them. To add to it I had to hide any images I drew of anthropomorphized creatures because it would gain unwanted attention. Seems even in this spance of years after I left school kids haven't changed. Disturbing. And just think those kids turn out to be senator or president. Holy crap huh? :/

If people beat the hell out of others because of a hobby, it's not only immature, but absurdly pathetic. Now, I can understand if they ganged up on the rainbowfurs or the frozenfurs, (because then their claims would be legitimate) but if I get thrown into the beatdown, or some other pristine fella, then it's gonna get ugly.
T-T I had the same thing happen to me in High School. After my very first convention I wanted to wear my new tail nd ears and a friend of mine that with with me did too. Not even 20 minutes after getting to school kids started to make fun of us, trying to grab our tails and ears, and even going as far as to try and take siccors to them (Thats how I lost my first fluffy rainbow tail that day TT-TT) The worst of it was that when my friend and me went to the teachers about they really didn't cear about what was going on. -_- thank god I'm finaly out of Highschool!
