They probably are... I think it is a bit of over-compensation, same with my overly-small feet all the time...
This artist has HUGE hands. v.v Bigger hands than anyone I've met IRL... and I have big feet, big enough it is difficult to buy shoes. v.v So, yeah... maybe... IF you look closely at the higher of the two hands, near her face... the 'bend' of the sleeve is where her wrist is...

Speaking of big hands... once I drew a girl.. years and years ago, showed my friends, and they made fun of how overly-long the arms were and how huge the hands were... and did it for weeks... you know, I barely ever show any of them (those I still am in contact with u.u) any of my artwork, ever? >.>
Oh-no... on two counts... I don't mind 'Nice!' or "Great!' comments... honestly, when I'm feeling down I will come troll my own work, and comments saying others like them will cheer me up. >.>
Additionally, no, you were being VERY fair and reasonable... Plus, you don't just point out flaws, heh. >.> That's part of a critique, find something nice to say, then point out a problem, and alternate, but always ending with another positive remark. >.> If you want to give constructive-feeling / sounding criticism ^^;
