Sorry. I was just trying my hand at this. Not sure it will be finished, just figured I'd post it anyway :3

I have a full studio I built in my basement when I worked at the radio station. I liked working from home more then there old building. I have a sound booth I can hold about 6 ppl in and record some local groups who do bluegrass. I also can burn CD's and print all the lables and everything.
It's funny cuz I prefer singing this high or higher... I dislike my voice being lower for some reason. But I realise there is less expression or flexibility with higher notes. I chose to sing this quite softly, but the chorus could do with some more oomph I think. If I shift the backing down it sounds very odd XD! I had to go with a key I could just about manage without ruining the backing. I may record the backing myself but I do like the instrumental for this. I was just sorta messing about with the vocals more than anything else which is why i just took the original instrumentals for these recent songs :3
Try working on your pacing next; Your voice seems a little rushed, and you stick to the same speed for the whole song. Try listening to the original and taking note of when he (he?) speeds up or slows down his singing.
This particular song lends itself to you quite well. You have a beautiful use of tone and for songs like this it really shines.
