Why is it full of cuts?

He is cut because he free-ranges with 7 other adult males, and they spat now and then. He's an instigator. Being hairless, my naked boys always look much worse off than the furred boys simply because they don't have the protection fur offers.

If he is anything like my hairless boy he is docile and tends to get bullied or pushed to the bottom of the rat pile, and since he lacks fur he gets scratched easier.

Oh yes. All three of my hairless are fight-pickers haha.

I have one fight picker, but he always gets put in his place by his little brother especially when he tries to go after my hairless boy. Topher, my hairless, even lets the other boys steal food right out his mouth as long as he doesn't have to deal with a fight, so he always gets given his treat last and gets the biggest one that he promptly runs into his iglu with and turns his butt toward the door so they can't get in.

Ha! My boys are pretty evenly matched, most of the time. Morgue is the one they beat up on now. He's an unsocialized boy I got from PetSmart and three of my boys absolutely HATE him. They fight all the time. He's my 2nd biggest rat but my baby that's the size of a mouse beats him up... XD

I have 2 hooded boys from the same litter and my hairless, he had a brother that was from the same litter as him but I lost him in January, they loved each other from day one. When I brought my two hooded boys home the hairless boys threw fits pawing at the bars between them and the littler guys to get together so I did a supervised visit and they were inseparable as soon as they got together.

I got lucky with these guys, though now I am debating adding a few more boys in but worry I wont get as lucky this time x.x Felix my biggest hooded boy is the bully and i get the feeling he will try to be mean and dominate any new guys since he knows he can't get away with that with his brothers now.

Yeah, I've had pretty good luck up until Morgue. Mostly a couple of rough grooms and everyone gets over it.

Morgue is completely the product of bad pet store policies though. He was kept alone his entire life, which is a BAD thing that PetSmart does for rats IMO. They seem to have this mindset that males cannot live together which is stupid as hell.

So when I bought Morgue, the lady called him the problem one-- said no one wanted him, etc etc.

He has absolutely no problems-- that PetSmart didn't cause. He absolutely LOVES people. He follows me around and always wants to be picked up. He jumps for me to save him if he's getting beat up.

He just does /not/ know how to be a rat, and this is all their fault. It's very frustrating. His fear makes him unable to obtain a place in the group.

love the hairless! He's gorgeous. And bah, scratches, I have one hairless with major scars all over his body from old fights, they're quite dramatic looking :o I just accept now that my baldies are gonna look like they fell into a holly bush!

So true. xD They don't seem to bother him and I don't worry unless it's actively bleeding. If so, I just treat it like I would a cut on myself and the next day everything's fine.

Some people get all dramatic-- but I've witnessed the healing power of ratties. Back when Hobart slashed Ichabod, his skin was hanging off in a big sheet. I freaked out, cleaned him up and wrapped it up good. In the night, he chewed the bandage off and the cut was only a little line like it almost never happened. o3o They're magic. xD

My mom opted we never got hairless because she didn't like looking at the scratches you can't normally see, she feels bad for them. I think they're really cute ;-; and this is one cute boy <3 I miss having rats!
LOL, it's like watching them gnaw on ice or really cold fruit....they tend to drop/flail with that too <3

Yeah, that never really crossed my mind when I got hairless-- just kinda got used to it. I'm always like *GASP* WHO'S A NAUGHTY BOY FIGHTING WITH? NO MORE FIGHTING NAUGHTY. And they just look at me like wut. XD

Always was the case with me. The older each girl would get the sweeter and more cuddly she'd get until she'd be the most adorably snuggly best friend ever at age three....:(
I just figure rats roughouse and they get little cuts often but we don't see all of them. The hairless guys probably get more, but I don't imagine MUCH more.

Yeah. Probably not. They heal so fast that it's not even a problem.

My rats did also enjoy those kinds of snacks.. Mine loved sour cream and onion chips..

I miss them sometimes, specially my Remy.. But he got cancer that poor thing..
And wow its noicy when they fight, I remember waking up with heartbeating because of that. lol

I had them next to my bed, that might have been stupid, also because they did stink fast, even tho I did muck out 2 times in a week..

But cute they are <3, and yours little naked one, is extra cute ^3^ ! Icecream eater..
