I finally have by balance of yotes in my life...
Yin: Darkness is a melanistic coyote taken from Idaho. He's got some of the thickest fur I've ever handled. The hues through hues through his fur range from a champagne, to a deep chocolate, pale tans to striking blacks. He had been head shot between the eyes so that hole has been repaired. No legs sadly, but he sports a hansom white stripe on his chest and a super full tail.
Yang: Ghost was originally from Colorado I believe, struck by a vehicle. His feet were too mangled to save (has donor feet to be reattached). He has a new nose (old one wouldn't hydrate properly, it was originally pink) and brown eyes instead of the blue we had started with (I actually like the brown much more, far more calm and not so fierce looking. He was remounted by OutdoorDreamer beautifully. The guard hairs on his back are extremely long and the underfur is unbelieveably soft.
Both coyotes are naturally occurring in nature, no chemicals were used to enhance the colors. I hope to some day find feet that match Darkness so he can be once more a complete pelt.
