IA-58A Pucará modelkit with 1982 Malvinas War Cammo (built horribly because FEW EXPERIENCE when i built it) in an HORRIBLE SOFT MUDDY "airfield", very in the style of "Goose Green" in the Malvinas is. Don´t have idea how hard was arrive to that place! XD Even the plane is a little sunk in the mud
Fortunatly, our pucará was designed as a COIN plane, able to use HORRIBLE PLACES as airfields, but even like that had some troubles in Malvinas. The floor there is basically a spooge xp
this plane was sent to me by a friend from the united Kingdom, btw!
sadly the snow isn´t visible, but was there
-2c right now

our pucarás ended as helicopter killers, but the sea harriers, the artillery and very specially the SAS ( the british commandos) destroyed or make irreparable all of them PLUS 4 T-34c turbo mentor. Uk moved like 4 of them to museums and in fact liked a lot the plane (altought, with true words, they sayd that have so few instruments XD ) . but several times they arrived back to the base with 200 impacts of 7.62 rifles and one time one was dessintegrated in 50% by one AIM-9 sidewinder from a sea harrier, and STILL flied 30 seconds, the pilot ejected without any damage! XD
the pucará is REALLY REALLY a tought plane. is like a poor A-10 ! XD

Tough as a Hurri, then, they could take silly amounts of damage XD
Mhm, I remember a story about the SAS taking one down with a Stinger, apparently they weren't even sure how to use it before it went off x3
I can imagine that they'd be quite effective in an anti-helicopter role, though.

I would even think it was Pebbles, not the Goose Green. At least there was some aircraft that was waiting in the mud for the weather to dry a little when brits arrived to blow things up. And right now the airfield is a swamp, if one believes the Google imagery... On a slightly unrelated note Airfix now has a double set of A-4 and Sea Harrier in 1:72, which really tempts me to start the Argentinian Navy / Airforce project. :)
Not the cleanest paint job nor the perfect build, but it is nice to see the start of the hobby! I sometimes wish I hadn't thrown away my first toys...
