Why are there so many songs about rainbows and what's on the other side? I asked these guys, but I don't think they're interested in telling me.
EDIT. It turns out that these guys come very close to Reaper Miniatures' miniatures of frogmen. I didn't intentionally copy their seriously cool designs but it's quite possible that I saw them at some point and it stuck in my subconscious. So I can't entirely take credit - please go and scope 'em out. They're a really cool company and do great stuff.
