I have to say I really really love the way you balanced colors in this picture! The smashed cigarettes in the ash tray are also a nice touch. Warreck also looks younger to me for some reason...

Thanks, it seems the lighting experimenting I did a lot of last year has payed off, also yeah haha I was going to have painting in the the background something more serious far more serious but then sanity kicked in and figured that I should be adding more quirky thinks into my backgrounds

This is one of those pictures that I feel like I can smell. I mean, it's so visually descriptive that I feel like it's a real place even though it's a drawing. I really love that door and the details of the background. It seems like a really warm, inviting place, even though I can't get the awful smell of beer, cigarettes, and cedar wood out of my head. ( That's not a very good smell. )

And Warreck's expression speaks volumes as well.

Wow thank you, I must say that I'm honoured to know that I conveyed that much with this pic. While I thought it to be my best work in months, it's hard for me to objectively say what others can see it if anything, so this if very encouraging.

Lighting...the colors...the expression..dude. YOu've come a long way since i met you even. I love the vulnerability in his eyes. I especially love the fact that (like Meggy said) you can almost smell the cigar smoke and the damp air. that 'pub' atmosphere. Stale ciggarettes and even staler beer, the sound of snooker being played in the background.

It's maybe the strongest complement an artist can receive when their work actually gives someone an emotional responce. I did work hard to generate an atmosphere with this but it's always hard to tell how others will see it......it seems you got the point of everything in this pic and that pleases me greatly to hear, thank you very much.
