The client who commissioned this piece is not a furry fan, tho her hubby is , and has a Clydesdale character. She asked him what animal she reminded him of...and he said 'a cow'. (I know, right? But he didn't mean it in an insulting way!!)
So, since the idea of 'cow' didn't appeal to her, she said, how about an animal with the same markings...such as the Gypsy Vanner!
She wanted the noses touching, and I found a great pose that Donna Barr (horse artist par excellance!)had one month in her 'Ponies' calandar (available from LuLu Press!) and borrowed it. (I asked permission first!) I altered it to fit my needs, and did this piece in Prismacolor Pencils on colored paper.
